INTERVIEW – 25% Attention is focused on her poise, charm, self - confidence and her ability to communicate, as well as the substance of her answers. Interviews are conducted individually in front of the entire judging panel in a private and closed setting. You will have a five-minute interview with the panel of 3 judges. It's very comfortable and conversational. Contestants are scored on their communication skills, and personality. They are NOT scored on their opinions or personal beliefs.
TRAJE TIPICO – 20% Each candidate creates her own Traje Tipico representing her own Pueblo. This Category is judged on the Contestant’s poise, elegance, suitability of her Traje Tipico and best representation of Puerto Rico.
SWIMSUIT – 20% Attention is focused on her figure, physical fitness, stage presence and the confidence with which each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in the judging. There is no perfect body type!
EVENING GOWN – 20% The evening wear competition is designed to be the most elegant and graceful portion of the pageant. Each contestant wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant’s overall appearance, self-confidence, and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice. She is evaluated on grace, poise, style, stage presence, and overall-impression. Judges are instructed to evaluate the contestant, not the dress she is wearing.
FINAL QUESTION – 15% There will be only one on stage question. This is an opportunity for the judges to get to know another side of you in a public setting. Question will be asked in Spanish and English. The contestant has an option of either answering in Spanish or English.
